It seems like ages since the renovation of Deluxe Fireplace Suite #12 wrapped up, but when our favorite hospitality photographers returned a few weeks ago, we were reminded that the new suite never got the unveiling it deserved! Our boutique Kennebunkport hotel proudly updates its rooms, suites, and cottages constantly, keeping up with traveler preferences. Unlike large hotels that renovate their rooms every decade or so, we choose a few every year to focus on, ensuring that our guests are pampered at all times!
This spring, Christian Giannelli and his father Andrew returned for their annual visit, reminding us that we had yet to reveal the beautiful first floor suite on the main house! Our largest suite, Deluxe Fireplace Suite 12 used to have just a queen sized bed, and that was something we had been looking to change for a while. But it was guest feedback about the entrance that allowed us to find a solution! Previously, this suite opened onto the front entrance and the living room, and despite extensive soundproofing that meant visitors in this suite didn’t
hear those outside, it didn’t create the feeling of privacy – which we all know is important! So after much planning, we built a new entrance to Suite 12 from a separate hallway and erected a new soundproofed wall that allowed for – you guessed it – a king sized bed!
Having a suite with two televisions, one in the bedroom and one in the living room means that visitors have plenty of options when it comes to relaxing. And since guests can enjoy the luxury of
gourmet breakfast delivered to their door, we made sure that there was a cozy eating space surrounded by windows. In the morning, light filters through the trees and overlooks beautiful gardens and expansive lawns, setting the scene for a peaceful morning meal.
In the warm summer months, it hardly seems necessary to mention the gas fireplace in the bedroom surrounded by original Victorian millwork, but come the fall and winter, that fireplace is sure to be just the thing for snuggling or reading a good book. The bedroom sitting area with wingback chair and upholstered window seat is a great spot to enjoy the glowing fire as well. But there is plenty more lounging space through the French doors into the light filled living room. We’re so happy to finally unveil the photos of this great suite for your next visit to Kennebunkport Maine and the Maine Stay Inn!
