It seems like summertime was just yesterday, but here in Kennebunkport, fall is well underway, and the holidays are just around the corner. This weekend marks the end of Daylight Savings Time, as we set the clocks back at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. That means that we can all enjoy an extra hour of sleep and wake up with loads of morning sunshine on Sunday!
Maine is known for being the first place to see the sun rise in the nation, and the East Coast sure is known for its incredible sunrises. So with the end of Daylight Savings Time and the start of Standard Time, we’ll have to get up a little earlier to enjoy them, but there is nothing like watching the sun peek over the water with a warm cup of coffee in hand. And then you can head back to our boutique Maine hotel and tuck into a gourmet breakfast – what a start to the day!
Fortunately there are countless places around Kennebunkport Maine to enjoy the sunrise – whether it is at the neck of the Kennebunk River, grounds at St. Ann’s Church By The Sea, or any of the east-facing Kennebunkport beaches. Or just stroll downtown to Dock Square and take in the view from the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport Bridge. So this fall and winter, enjoy the gorgeous sunrises and early starts thanks to turning the clocks back in Kennebunkport Maine!
