Spring is really here, and this weekend is right on trend, with temperatures for Saturday forecasted to soar into the low 70s! Given that we had snow in Kennebunkport on Monday, this sure is the classic way that spring rolls here in New England. But in addition to getting outside and enjoying the beauty of spring on the Maine Coast, there are tons of fun things to do in the area. Here is just a sampling of the upcoming events and activities in the Kennebunkport Maine area:
- Early spring is great for birdwatching, because there isn’t enough on the trees to obscure your view. So this Friday, reserve a spot at the Wells Reserve for their sunset “Woodcock Watch” – a guided sunset tour of the Laudholm Farm preserve where you’ll look for the male’s signature display sure to impress you and the lady woodcocks!
- All weekend long you can enjoy the Farm + Table Pre-Opening Sale at the American
Legion Hall. Located across from Kennebunport police station just a mile from the Maine Stay Inn, you are sure to find loads of incredible pieces of home decor. Farm + Table is my go-to for unique gifts so you can bet I’ll be there checking out their sale, because you can’t beat 50% off! 9 AM – 5 PM.
- Saturday is an evening for the arts, that is for sure! Head just a few miles to our south and enjoy a Tim Janis Concert at the York Community Auditorium. With shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., there is no reason to miss out on this awesome musical performance with his first new album since 2010! Or head further south to Kittery’s Haley Art Gallery for their opening and reception.
- Looking for something a little more relaxed? Check out Karaoke Night at Alisson’s Restaurant on Friday Night starting at 10 p.m.!
Of course, at this time of year, some of the best things to do are explore the natural beauty of Southern Maine. With miles of trails to trek, dozens of nature preserves to enjoy, and miles of coastline to drink in, there is no limit to how you can spend you spring getaway here in Kennebunkport.
